There's been a huge movement toward frozen yogurt recently -- I've seen 3 shops open up just this summer in downtown Palo Alto alone. But, of them, Fraiche Yogurt stands out from the pack with it's lineup. This isn't the 31 flavors you may be used to with ice cream. They only offer 3 flavors - natural, chocolate, and soy, but they are oh-so-delicious.

Fraiche Frozen Yogurt Palo AltoThe milk-based natural and chocolate are both made by hand at their flagship store on 644 Emerson in downtown Palo Alto. However, all 3 flavors are made with 100% organic ingredients and contain live pro-biotic cultures. The yougurt isn't artificially sweetened so you may be in for a little shock when you first try it out. But everyone I know who has tried it has been hooked (we're Fraiche fanatics!). You can sweeten it up with fresh berries, fruit, puree, honey, hand shredded dark chocolate, or their signature granola made from steel cut oatmeal.

And, at just 25 calories per 1-ounce serving for the natural and soy versions (sorry, chocolate is up to 45 calories per serving) your waistline will thank you. A junior cup contains 4-ounces for a grand total of only 100 calories!

They open early between 7am and 9am depending on the day, serving their fresh yogurt with fruit and granola for breakfast. And, they stay open late between 10:30pm and 11pm for dessert. This place is usually pretty packed, but they've got excellent service that'll get you your fix in no time.
