We've been to nearly every cinema in the south bay and the AMC Cupertino Cinemas is by far our favorite. We thought it was a hidden secret because we had seen a number of new releases there during the first week, but they sold out for the entire day of the Batman Dark Knight premiere (as was every other theater in the country, so I'm not sure that's an indication).
It's brand new and anchors the renovated Cupertino Square Shopping Center (formerly Vallco Mall). The seats are comfortable and the theater is clean and well kept. There's plenty of free parking and I don't typically find that you have to arrive more than 15 minutes early for an evening flick. The best part is that they offer matinee movie prices until 4:00pm every day, including weekends.
